The qualification is widely recognized throughout the world and is suitable for a wide range of people, from beginners wanting to gain skills and improve confidence, to those with a bit more experience looking to gain their powerboat ‘license' that can be complemented by an ICC. Some people's aim is simply to be able to drive a speedboat for fun, others look to use the skill as a vehicle for their sport or job. This course might appeal to Water-skiers, Wake-boarders, Divers, Anglers, Super Yacht deck crew who drive the tender.Our two day Level 2 course will equip students with the necessary safety skills and help to build confidence, but it is also about having fun. If you require a powerboat license for driving in other European countries, we can take care of the paperwork for your ICC (International Certificate of Competence), which is subject to a small RYA administration fee for non-RYA members (please ask us about restrictions in place for the issue of the ICC, which from January 2015 on may also be issued to portuguese nationals and/or residents).
Pre-requisites
EThis course is adequate to anyone starting to powerboat as well as for those who need training and a structured approach to powerboating.
Minimum age of 12 years applies; certificates for under 16s will be endorsed "Not to be in charge of a powerboat unless under the supervision of a responsible adult".
Please note that in our training centre all underaged need to be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Duração
The Powerboat Level 2 course takes two days (0930 to 1730 hrs) to complete.
Available all year round at weekends or weekdays. Can be taught on board of our boats or on your own.
If you are a more experienced powerboater hoping to gain your National Powerboat Certificate and don't wish to undertake the introductory elements of the Level 2 course, you can instead attend a shorter 1:1 course (1 : 1 fast track day) which consists of some coaching and a direct assessment. Location
Oeiras Yachting Harbor offers access to an outstanding water plan. It offers modern infrastructure with restaurants, shops, showers, parking and boatyard all in a stunning location between Lisbon and Cascais.Around the marina, you will find several high quality beaches, and ocean swimming-pool and a cycle path by the water.
Its strategic location at the mouth of the river Tagus allows you to experience the Atlantic or otherwise look for the more protected and tidal waters of the river.
It's proximity to Cascais and Lisbon (about 6nm each) as well as the quick exit towards the south for destinations like Sesimbra are also a solid advantage.

Notas Importantes
All prices include fuel and marina costs. Includes usage of all the safety gear. Wet weather gear, like Helly Hansen Jackets and high trousers has to be booked in advance and has a cost of 12 euros per 2 days. Includes the offer of 1 book: "RYA Start Powerboating".
West Coast has alll the insurnces required for this type of activity. Nevertheless, we highly recomend that you buy your own insurance adequate to your specific needs. For example, covering cancelation costs, theft, unexpected disease, and that does not explicitly exclude powerboatin.
It is not included in the price: Any meal ashore, accomodation transfer between the marina and the aiport ( but we can help with information and booking a taxi or trasnfer).

We want you to be satisfied of course, but we prefer that you are absolutey delighted with your experience and training.We are proud of the job we do so we are not happy if you are not happy. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with the activity or experience you have chosen you can repeat it at no additional cost.
In what training is concerned we cannot guarantee that you will always pass and get your certificate. But we can assure you that we will do our best so that you can reach your objectives.
PorTherefore we are the only traiing centre to offer you a "Learning Agreement" and second chance, assuring that you can repeat your course or activity (or parts of it) at no additional cost.
