Nevertheless, it is only usefull if used by and experienced operator with adeqaute training.

Program
During 1 full day, you will learn how to adjust the Radar, interpret the image, navigate and take action for collision avoidance.
You will use a Radar simulator, in various scenarios that will allow to practise real life situations.
Course Topics include:
. Connecting the Radar;
. Interpreting the Radar image;
. Refining the image;
. Radar Reflectors;
. Radar and IRPCS - collision avoidance
. Position Fixing;
. Radar Pilotage.
In the course price it is included 1 support book (RYA Radar) and 1 exercise book (RYA Radar Exercises), as well as a certificate in the end, should you complete the program sucessfully.
It is also possible to organize this course as private tuition, either using our classroom, onboard your boat, onboard our boat or even in a combination of classroom and practical tuition.
Even if it is possible to organize this course onboard, we always recommend some time with the simulator. This allows the instructor to create a variety of scenarios according to specific needs.
This course is taught in English and leads to an RYA certificate in the end.

Pre-Requisites
There are no formal pre-requisites. Nevertheless it is important to have previous working knowledge of IRPCS. This is an ideal course for anyone reaching Costal Skipper or "Patrão de Costa" and above.
Many students attending this course are also boat owners who heve previously tried to use the equipment available on board. but need training and time with a simulator to be able to get the most out of the radar.
