A qualified RYA Yachtmaster Examiner independent of our Training Centre will give you the chance to demonstrate that you are a competent Yachtmaster.
These are demanding examinations that require that you are able to demonstrate skills to take full responsibility for managing your yacht, crew and navigation. You must have a solid theory background and demonstrate that you are always in control.

Exam
You may ask an examiner to examine you on board of your own boat or in one of our boats and there isn’t a specific preparation course for the exam.
Frequently, at the level of Yachtmaster Coastal, candidates follow the "RYA Coastal Skipper" course to then take the exam. But for RYA/MCA exams there isn’t a pre-defined preparation course since it depends on your previous experience.
The exam will include an evaluation of your skippering skills, boat handling, seamanship, navigation (theory is included), safety, collision regulations and meteorology.
We can coach you in the specific areas you need to improve with a specific program and after a meeting so we can identify the specific issues you need to work on.
