This is an advanced skippering course for yachtsmen and women who have considerable knowledge of and experience in sailing and navigation.During the course you will skipper passages in a whole variety of situations and enjoy an intense and satisfying week.
To get the most out of this course, your theory background knowledge should be at the level of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased course. You should also be an experienced Day Skipper with more experience a milles gained since your RYA Day Skipper course.

Pre-Requisites
15 days at sea, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours.
Knowledge of advanced offshore & coastal seamanship, navigation, pilotage and meteorology. We advise that ou have completed the theory course "Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased Course".
Once you hold this certificate the prerequisites to enter the Yachtmaster Coastal are reduced. Check here more information about the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal Exam.

Location
Oeiras Yachting Harbor offers access to an outstanding water plan. It offers modern infrastructure with restaurants, shops, showers, parking and boatyard all in a stunning location between Lisbon and Cascais.Around the marina, you will find several high quality beaches, and ocean swimming-pool and a cycle path by the water.
Its strategic location at the mouth of the river Tagus allows you to experience the Atlantic or otherwise look for the more protected and tidal waters of the river.
It's proximity to Cascais and Lisbon (about 6nm each) as well as the quick exit towards the south for destinations like Sesimbra are also a solid advantage.

All prices include fuel, marina costs and acomodation onboard when applicable. Includes the usage of all the safety gear, bed clothing, and food when applicable (breakfasts, lunches and 3 dinners on board). The boat will be supplied on your arrival. The Premium option Includes a free book "RYA Sail Cruising and Yachtmaster Sheme" with your first RYA course with us. If you wish to make use of the Helly Hansen wet weather gear you have to book in advance at a cost o 19,50 euros per 5 days or 6 euros per day. West Coast holds all the required insurances for this type of activity. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend that you hold or buy your own travel insurance adequate to your specific needs. For example, in insurance that covers cancelation costs, theft, disease and that does not exclude recrational sailing is highly advised. It is not included in the price: meals ashore, books you may need, transfer to and from the airport or the city centre (but we can help with booking a taxi or organising a transfer for your group).
